The Arts Council Northeast camp offers a unique opportunity for children ages 6-16 to learn from some of the area’s top artists. Students receive a taste of the performing and visual arts. They’ll be a part of an imaginative and fun week-long cultural experience held in Northeast Tarrant County locations. During each session, teachers give students a chance to participate in different artistic disciplines, including visual arts, drama, music, and dance. Our program allows the student to explore and develop his/her artistic talents and interests. Students are allowed to let their imaginations run wild as they design their own projects and create unique dances and songs. At the end of each session, students perform for parents and family.
ELEMENTARY CAMPS INCLUDE:
Set Design – Students will be an integral part of the design and creation of the set.
Musical Theater – Students will learn creative songwriting, vocal, dance and acting skills in a creative, supportive and FUN environment, concluding with a performance. Imaginations welcome!
Visual Art – Students will create works of art using techniques of the Great Masters – through painting, drawing, clay, and many other mediums.
STUDENTS SHOULD BRING A SACK LUNCH AND DRINK DAILY.
Data shows that study of the arts helps children to develop cognitive skills, which include the abilities to analyze, reflect, make judgments, and generate new ideas of their own. The arts also nurture motivation, a higher-level thinking, self-confidence, self-identity, conflict resolution, collaboration, empathy, and social tolerance.
Summer Arts College continues to fill a gap for students while they’re out of school, allowing them to spend their summer vacation productively in a fun, creative, and educational environment.
